The Spa at The Mandarin Oriental, London

Located between the hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge and leafy Hyde Park, lies the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. Behind the impressive hotel façade, its award-winning spa is a haven of tranquility offering a unique selection of pampering rituals designed to de-stress, relax and revitalise.

What to expect:

An innovative take on the more traditional spa experience, the Mandarin Oriental offers ‘Time Rituals™’ where guests are encouraged to book ‘time” rather than specific treatments so that bespoke services can be designed to meet their specific needs. Guests can spend some time relaxing in the Vitality Pool with its selection of hydrotherapy jets before your treatment. Alternatively, you can choose between the Amethyst Crystal Steam Room, the Sanarium sauna, or the Zen Colour Therapy Relaxation Room for a little R&R.

What are the treatments like?

The spa combines Mandarin Oriental’s own signature therapies, together with treatments for face and body by Aromatherapy Associates and Linda Meredith. Guests consult with a private therapist before treatment to determine their individual state of wellbeing. Treatments combine both ancient and contemporary techniques, designed to bring balance and equilibrium.

Thoroughly recommended:

Oriental Harmony – a 1 hour, 50 minute treatment with two therapists working together to exfoliate the skin and massage the body, finishing with an energizing simultaneous head and foot massage. The height of indulgence.

Treat yourself to:

Aroma Shell Relax – warm tiger clam shells are worked over the body, focusing on pressure points including the feet, legs, back and shoulders in this 1 hour 20 minute treatment. Stress and muscle tension are eased during the calming massage.

Added bonus:

If you’re feeling energetic, head to the fitness and wellbeing centre to use the state-of-the-art gym and 17 metre indoor pool. Or, if you’re a hotel guest or fitness club member, start a fitness improvement programme with guidance and motivation from one of the most in demand coaches in the UK, Ruben Tabares.

Don’t miss:

The Four Senses Loungers in the relaxation area of the fitness centre. Colour changing light, soft aroma, gentle vibrations and calming music combine together to provide a dream-like state for ultimate relaxation……

Don’t forget:

Your Vevie “Brunswick” vest top and leggings for the gym or your “Pembrey” halter-neck one-piece for the spa and pool. But don’t panic if you forget your costume, there is a selection of stunning Vevie swimwear and fitness wear for sale at both the spa and fitness receptions.
